Marie has over 18 years of experience working as an Occupational Therapist in both the NHS and the private sector. Marie has previously worked with adults, but currently works with children. She has worked as an Advanced Therapist in Warwickshire’s Integrated Disability Team for children which is part of a growing Occupational Therapy service. Marie is used to Multi-Disciplinary working and works well supporting families, carer’s, and therapy support staff to implement treatment and rehabilitation programmes.  She is experienced with using a person centred approach with a diverse caseload of both adults and children with a variety of difficulties including complex needs, neurological disabilities, severe learning difficulties, life threatening illness, co-ordination difficulties, sensory processing difficulties and handwriting difficulties.  Marie has significant experience supervising and managing staff and works closely with management dealing with departmental leadership issues.

Marie has worked within an adult acute setting since 1998 and worked with a variety of conditions including orthopaedic, traumatic injury, and medical.  She specialises in paediatrics. She not only has experience with assessment, goal setting and writing and implementing therapy programmes, but is also able to address complex equipment needs, minor adaptations and major adaptations to both homes and schools. 

Marie has been involved in developing and implementing traded services, which allow parents and schools to pay for specialist services linked to Sensory Integration, neurodevelopmental input and co-ordination/handwriting assessments. She developed the hand splinting service from scratch and is one of the department’s lead splinting therapists.

Marie is a trained Bobath Therapist and has experience of working with children with complex therapy and equipment needs. Marie can therefore write and implement treatment programmes and works closely with colleagues to develop their neuro-developmental skills. 

Since November 2009, Marie has become involved in private practice and has several case management clients across the West Midlands.  These cases include children and adults with traumatic brain injuries, Cerebral Palsy, spinal injuries and co-ordination/handwriting difficulties. She has been involved in therapy sessions, equipment, adaptations and hand splinting.

Marie has completed the comprehensive Community Case Management Services brain, spinal and catastrophic complex injury case management pathway training and is committed to attending regular seminars conferences and other training to update her knowledge and continuous learning.



Marie is a keen musician and plays the Clarinet up to a Grade 8 standard, Alto Saxophone and Soprano Saxophone. She regularly plays for the Stratford Concert Band, Stratford Upon Avon Festival Orchestra and a small jazz / swing band.

Marie is part of a few village amateur dramatics groups and gets involved with performing in the annual charity fundraising show. Along with her husband, Marie provides music for the local church and organises children from the village to play their instruments during services. Marie also enjoys swimming, walking, cycling and going to concerts and the theatre.
