*Female Special Needs Teaching Assistant


Experienced *Female Special Needs Teaching Assistant required to work on a private one to one basis with our client at The Tulip Academy Spring View Campus, Spalding in the Peterborough area.  

Our client has cerebral palsy, she is wheelchair dependent and she is non verbal. She is a bright young lady who is developing her communication skills though use of the iPad grid pad and Eye Gaze living with her family in Holbeach.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support in the school classroom, and assist the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum to our client. We are seeking someone with experience working with communication aids however it is not essential because full training will be provided.

Duties will also include personal care and peg feeding. Client specific training will be given. Additional training will be provided by school. This is not a typical role to the usual TA position and you need to be flexible and adaptable to respond to different situations.

There is a private therapy team providing speech and language therapy, occupational therapy and physiotherapy and you will be supported and provided with training on our clients specific programmes.

This is a full time post, 08:30am to 15:30pm during term time, with an extra 30 minutes for reporting. A job share can be considered.

You will be responsible to the Case Manager working collaboratively with the parents.

The successful candidate will be working in collaboration with a rehabilitation care team working in the home to ensure good communication between home and school during term time if the client is not attending school. We would like you to be part of her team and be able to attend team meetings and client specific training as additional time.

Interviews will be held at the Tulip Academy with the Case Manager, Head Teacher and parents.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided. A full driving licence is essential.
