EXPERIENCE

Anna-Maria graduated from York St John University in2014 with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and has experience of working as a physiotherapist (both adults & children) in the community sector including experience working in rehabilitation units to support community patients within the NHS. Due to this she has excellent knowledge of the available services and teams within the community and the importance of accessing these to ensure the best possible care and to support an individual through the rehabilitation process.

Anna-Maria takes a holistic approach to her practice and has extensive experience of working with clients and families with complex health needs and life changing conditions/injuries. She is skilled at co-ordinating care, therapy, equipment, and any additional support an individual may require ensuring that they reach their rehabilitation goals.

Whilst working in the community, Anna-Maria is adept with multidisciplinary team working due to the complexity of clients she has worked with including joint working with OTs, GPs and other health professionals as well as families. She has experience of also working alongside health professionals in private practice and has liaised within the voluntary sector. She has gained valuable experience as a client advocate through this, and she has built strong links within the community through her many years of experience to help support a client through their rehabilitation journey.

Anna-Maria has also completed Health Coaching sessions whilst working within the NHS and is confident in educating and supporting individuals and their families to set SMART goals and manage an individual’s and their families’ expectations as well as encourage their full participation in rehabilitation.

PERSONAL PROFILE

Anna-Maria has a partner and 2 children and enjoys family life as well as a wide range of activities such as socialising with friends, exercising & baking. 

Anna-Maria grew up in Athens and can speak both English and Greek. She enjoys her job as she finds it rewarding to know that she has contributed to improving a person’s quality of life.
