Following a career managing social housing, Fiona then worked in education. Her role involved working one to one alongside children with learning and physical disabilities. Since February 2018, Fiona has been a support worker in a paediatric setting working closely with the client’s family.

She has experience of being part of a multi-disciplinary team since 2009 when she began working in education. In her role Fiona delivers therapies as directed and organises leisure activities with therapeutic benefits. She uses her experience as a teaching assistant to support her client’s educational needs as directed by the class teacher. She has experience of liaising with treating professionals and organising her client’s schedules.

This is in a voluntary capacity and through this process she has gained a greater understanding of mental health issues and traumatic brain injury.
