Goksel has gained extensive experience working within the UK care sector, in both care homes and domiciliary care.  Due to having worked to a senior level within this sector he has gained significant management skills and abilities. Goksel has been working in case management with adults and children with catastrophic complex injuries since 1997.

Goksel commenced his career as a Night Care Manager, whilst working at The London Borough of Haringey Care Home. He then went on to work for a charitable organisation in London for a Turkish Cypriot Community Association as a Specialist Carer Project Manager. After this Goksel started working in case management, assisting clients with recruitment of support workers, and with the management of care, organising training, conducting supervision and appraisal sessions and overseeing daily activity management. Goksel has also worked for many years alongside senior case managers as an assistant case manager, and through this he has gained experience in co-ordinating complex community care packages for clients and managing and overseeing multidisciplinary teams. Goksel has had many years’ experience working effectively with private and statutory MDT’s, workers, GP’s and local councils.

Since 2006 Goksel has worked closely with a Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist providing community-based services to brain injury clients.  Goksel was later trained and supervised by the Consultant as a Rehabilitation Professional, to then provide combined Cognitive Re-training and Rehabilitation Programmes with clients.

Goksel takes responsibility for his professional and personal development by striving continually to improve his knowledge, skills and competence by attending regular seminars and conferences and he ensures he remains up to date with mandatory and specialist training and development.

Goksel can communicate and collaborate with people from various ethnic backgrounds, age, gender, sexual orientation, abilities/disabilities and regardless of political or religious preferences. He is bilingual in both Turkish and English and can speak ‘enough Greek’ to be able to communicate.
