Self-Employed Mental Health Support Worker/Buddy required for an adult with an acquired brain injury and history of mental health issues and severe anxiety. Our client is a gentleman in his 50s who lives in a care home in Newcastle.

We are seeking a buddy to build a relationship with our client in his current setting working very slowly towards increasing his confidence to go out in the community and attend a music group.

This will take time and patience due to his anxieties.

Ideally you are available flexibly within your weekly schedule to provide two hours a week building a relationship as his buddy. If successful, the hours will increase over time.

We would expect the support worker/buddy to participate in activities with our client, whilst encouraging him to engage.  The support worker will be expected work closely with the case manager to limit his vulnerability.

Our client seeks someone who is experienced, organised and flexible. You must have experience in working in mental health.

Rates of pay: £25.00 per hour.

All posts are subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure with Adult and Child Workforce Barring. Full training will be provided.
