Experience >

Claire has over 20 years working as a specialist brain and complex injuries Case Manager.

In 1992 Claire joined the Royal Navel Nursing Core (QARNNS). An amazing opportunity granted out of over 35,000 applicants to commence her career as a nurse. The Navy empowered Claire to experience both professional and life experiences, crewing yachts, being selected to participate in the Tri Service exercise with the Dutch and German forces and developing a great sense of discipline, loyalty and commitment to those Claire worked for and with. After securing her nursing qualification Claire quickly progressed to Leading Naval Nurse following the physically and mentally intensive leadership course. Whilst in service Claire gained her ENB 998 –Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice.

In 1998 Claire left the Royal Navy following the birth of her daughter. In 1998 Claire joined BUPA as a head and neck nurse in Southampton utilizing her skills and experience in teaching and supervising junior staff to ensure the correct use of critical and routine care and equipment. Claire was responsible for the safe running of the ward on a day-to-day basis and the utilization of skill mix of duty rosters.

In July 2001 having sustained a career ending shoulder injury Claire took the opportunity to harvest her nursing skills and experience within the world of insurance joining Health First – Royal & Sun Alliance as a Nurse Co-Ordinator. Claire was involved in the facilitation of pro-active rehabilitation, encompassing different levels of severity, including brain injuries. It was whilst working with Health First that Claire was first introduced to the role of Case Management.

In May 2003 Claire moved from Southampton to embark on her career as a Case Manager joining JS Parker Ltd. In November 2008 Claire was promoted to Senior Case Manager managing her own team as well as being a proactive member of the senior management team. Claire provided support and guidance not only to the Sheffield office but to the setting up and development across the whole of JS Parker.

Claire spent over 10 years as one of the Teacher Assessors of the Accredited Working with Individuals with Brain Injury Course. Seeing those light bulb moments of recognition for learners was a real personal buzz knowing that after the course the learners would take their new knowledge into their workplace to enhance the life of the clients they worked with.

Over the 19 years of working with JSP Claire took an active and leading role in the induction, training, and management of new staff.

Claire is skilled at coordinating care, support and rehabilitation for her clients.  She has full understanding of the litigation needs in relation to both personal injury and medical negligence claims.

Claire has presented at several conferences including being invited to co present at the Together 2nd International Case Management Conference in May 2017 on Risk Management in Complex Neuropsychiatric cases alongside Dr Bruce Moore.
