Registered General Nurse – 1995
Michelle is an enthusiastic and conscientious Case Manager and Nurse with over 30 years’ experience in nursing and social care across community and hospital settings.
She has worked with clients with complex needs, including cerebral palsy and acquired brain injury, carrying out detailed assessments, risk evaluations, and coordinating rehabilitation and support packages. Michelle is skilled in advocacy and ensures that clients and their families remain central to all decisions, with goal-focused action plans tailored to their aspirations.
Michelle has extensive experience managing multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) and collaborating with rehabilitation therapists and other professionals. She consistently produces comprehensive case management updates and action plans.
Her financial oversight includes budget tracking, planning, and regular reviews to ensure realistic and effective financial goals. She has supported adjustments where necessary to maintain alignment with client needs.
In addition to her case management role, Michelle has served as a Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission, overseeing care homes and complex community care packages — including for clients with tracheostomies and ventilators. As a Clinical Lead, she implemented complex care provisions, recruited staff, and ensured clinical competency across teams.
Michelle’s background also includes working within local authority settings as a Care Manager and Team Manager, conducting statutory assessments, commissioning care, and managing area budgets. She is experienced with direct payments, continuing care, and personal budgets.
Michelle lives with her partner and enjoys making the most of the beautiful surroundings by walking with her dog and partner whenever possible. To unwind, she enjoys paper crafting and felting.
Michelle has two grown-up sons, one of whom has a learning disability and autism and requires 24-hour support. He now lives in supported living. Michelle feels this gives her valuable insight into the challenges faced by families of clients who require support, and the ongoing fight to ensure they receive it. She also understands what it feels like to trust others to care for your loved ones — and the guilt and worry that often accompany that trust.
