BSC (Hons) Occupational Therapy
Simon has successfully completed all components of the Community Case Management comprehensive pathway workshops and is fully conversant with the requirements of the litigation process and what is required of the Case Manager. He has also supported the preparation of Expert Witness documentation.
Simon followed his passion into care after working for fifteen years in the Education and Training sector, where he managed a national training programme for a major examinations board, delivering 800 events per year. Valuing a grass roots approach to education and experience, Simon initially developed a bedrock of care knowledge as a support worker, then, inspired by his Allied Health Professional colleagues, he retrained as an Occupational Therapist and progressed rapidly to a senior position within 18 months.
His specialism is Neuro and Community, and he continues to be an active practitioner in a rehab setting alongside Case Management. Blending his skill as an OT with his leadership background, he is a strong voice within Multidisciplinary Teams and is outcome focused for his clients. He is driven to achieve Occupational Justice.
As an OT, Simon recognizes the need for Occupational Balance and has many interests and experiences, which lend themselves to finding common ground with his clients.
His strongest passions come out in a love for gaming and nostalgia, frequently mixing the two through collecting and attending events. A practitioner of mindfulness, Simon seeks rest within meditation and building Lego. He has recently taken up Mountain Biking. Keen to learn, he has undertaken hobbyist Open University study, diversifying from Physics and Mathematics through to Creative Writing.
After completed an HND in TV and Film Production in his earlier years, his love for cinema persists as strong as ever. Always looking for something new, he raised money by running the London Marathon and completing a Fire Walk. When not diversifying his interests, he spends time with his wife, four stepchildren and Chihuahua.
