Simone studied Psychology at Nottingham Trent University before completing a Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy. She currently works part-time as a Senior Occupational Therapist in a Major Trauma Hospital, where she supports patients with complex needs across a variety of clinical areas, including neurosurgery, stroke, healthcare of older people, acute medicine, oncology, and haematology. Simone is highly skilled in conducting comprehensive assessments, developing holistic treatment plans, and facilitating safe and effective discharges within acute medical settings. She is passionate about empowering individuals to overcome barriers that prevent them from engaging in meaningful and purposeful activities and roles.
As a motivated and experienced Case Manager, Simone brings a proactive, therapeutic, and goal-focused approach to coordinating care and rehabilitation programmes. She understands the importance of working collaboratively with clients, families, caregivers, private multidisciplinary teams, local authorities, statutory services, and education providers to ensure that rehabilitation goals are not only implemented but regularly reviewed and adapted to reflect changing needs.
Simone places a strong emphasis on clear communication and organisation, ensuring that each client's views, wishes, and priorities remain central to the decision-making process. She regularly reviews goals and interventions to ensure they remain relevant and personalised to each individual.
She is experienced in establishing and managing care teams—both directly employed and agency-provided—and recognises their integral role in a client’s rehabilitation journey. Simone facilitates regular team meetings and supervisions to provide a safe space for reflection, monitor staff wellbeing, and maintain high standards of care.
Simone is confident in completing comprehensive risk assessments, including those required for activities such as holidays and day trips. She documents clear care plans that are regularly reviewed to ensure compliance with CQC standards and relevant policies and procedures. She also has a wealth of experience organising fun, therapeutic, and meaningful activities both in the UK and abroad, enhancing her clients' quality of life and independence.
Simone is skilled at building strong, positive relationships with clients, families, solicitors, deputies, and other stakeholders. She values rapport-building as a key foundation for trust, respect, and successful teamwork—ensuring that all parties are aligned and working towards shared goals.
With a sound understanding of the litigation process, Simone is meticulous in her record-keeping and documentation, and confident in managing a team of professionals while maintaining a holistic and person-centred approach to rehabilitation. She is committed to ongoing reflection and professional development, regularly engaging in CPD to enhance her clinical knowledge and practice.
Simone enjoys staying active through running and attending the gym, having completed both half and full marathons. She also values spending quality time with friends and family. Simone is passionate about travel and is keen to continue exploring different countries, deepening her understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures.
