Traci-Ann case manages adolescents 16+ and working-age adults with a variety of injuries specialising in mild to severe acquired/traumatic brain injury, spinal injury, complex/catastrophic injury, and neurological conditions such as FND (functional neurological disorder). She is proficient at managing complex cases which includes coordinating and managing large MDTs of both private, statutory providers, working closely with financial deputies regarding clients’ financial requests and managing budgets, setting up and running independent living trials (ILTs), managing issues around mental capacity and consent, overseeing care support teams, supporting complex clients to work towards reducing their care support, encouraging parental involvement in the rehabilitation and case management process and managing the expectations of the family/support network.

Traci-Ann is a client-centred and goal-driven case manager and occupational therapist who supports her clients to realise their aspirations through the setting and achieving of rehabilitation goals with measurable outcomes. As a pragmatic and creative clinician, Traci-Ann uses the biopsychosocial model to inform her practice, recognising how biological, psychological (thoughts, emotions, behaviours), and social factors collectively influence a person’s recovery and their overall well-being with a firm focus on improving her clients’ quality of life through the use of occupational participation and therapeutic activity.

Traci-Ann qualified as an occupational therapist in 2010. She worked in the NHS for almost 12 years specialising in neurology and acquired brain injury, working across inpatient acute, inpatient neurorehabilitation and community neurorehabilitation services and latterly as a clinical lead in a level 2 regional inpatient neurorehabilitation unit. Traci-Ann has been a BABICM registered practitioner case manager since 2022 and she continues to practise as an independent specialist occupational therapist alongside this to maintain her high level of clinical skill.

Traci-Ann has a fundamental interest in teaching, training and education and in her previous life she was a horse riding instructor and a teacher of English as a foreign language to both children and adults. Whilst in the NHS, Traci-Ann developed and delivered in-house competency training packages to occupational therapists, physiotherapists, technical instructors and rehabilitation assistants in subjects such as rehabilitating the neurological upper limb, splinting of the neurological upper limb, cognitive and perceptual difficulties after brain injury, assessing and treating people with disorders of consciousness, functional neurological disorder and other neurological conditions and stroke rehabilitation. Traci-Ann has continued this during her time as a case manager, using her skills to support the development of both case managers and associate occupational therapists.
